How to care for and extend the life of your Flag

You can help extend the life of your promotional or corporate printed flags by following a few simple practices. Do you need to fly your flags at night?. If not then lowering your flag can help double its life. Flags can take a battering during high winds so lowering your flags above winds of 35km/h will also help prolong their life. You may decide to replace the flag with a storm flag, this practice is considered at force 5 and adopted at force 6. Flags should be removed

Washing your flags on a regular basis not only keeps them looking clean, but this also helps reduce the rotting of the material caused by the dirt and acids that are carried in the atmosphere. Washing every 14 days is recommended in normal or heavily polluted areas.

Woven and knitted polyester flags require a warm wash of 40-50 degrees. 1 to 2 main washes main be required to remove heavy soiling. Ensure your flags are dried thoroughly before being folded and stored. Ensure your flags are washed from the outset. Dirt that has been ingrained over a prolonged period of time will be difficult to remove. The dyes that we use on our flags have been pre-washed @ 50-60 degrees centigrade prior to supply.
