Supporting Overgate Hospice’s Midnight Walk | Portfolio Display

When a local charity asks for help, we are always proud to play our part. This year, Portfolio Display Ltd provided printing for the Overgate Hospice Midnight Walk. The results speak for themselves.

Our Overgate Hospice Midnight Walk partnership

Overgate Hospice cares for patients and families across our local community. Its Midnight Walk is one of the highlights of its fundraising calendar. Every pound raised matters. So we gladly supported the event by donating printing for this year’s walk.

Around 17 September, we received a lovely thank-you message from Beth Burton. Beth is Community Events Fundraiser at Overgate Hospice.

The challenge

A night-time charity walk brings its own demands. More than 850 walkers and 100 volunteers took part. The event needed clear, professional print materials. These had to create a welcoming atmosphere from registration through to the route itself. Equally, they could not eat into the money raised for patient care.

What we supplied

For this year’s Midnight Walk, we produced 30 pieces of bespoke Overgate Hospice bunting. Each one carried OVERGATE HOSPICE branding on green. We also donated the wider event printing free of charge. As a result, the hospice could present a polished, consistent look across the event. At the same time, it kept its fundraising budget focused where it matters most.

It continues a working relationship that has run throughout 2026. Earlier in the year, our team also supplied Foamex printing and PVC banners to support the hospice’s activity.

Why it works

Good event print does more than look the part. It helps people find their way, builds a sense of occasion and makes participants feel part of something bigger. On the night, walkers in orange event tees and glowing headbands gathered beneath large navy OVERGATE HOSPICE MIDNIGHT WALK signage. Together, they created a striking, unified scene.

As Beth put it, the materials “helped create a professional, welcoming event” . Because we donated the printing, more of the funds raised could go directly to patients and families.

The Midnight Walk was a huge success. Registration tents filled the courtyard at The Arches. Hundreds of walkers in orange tees and light-up accessories gathered there. Then the crowd set off into the night together.

Beth extended a huge thank you to the team for generously providing the printing. She also described Portfolio Display as “a wonderful local company”. Those words mean a great deal to all of us.

Community support matters

We work with businesses across the UK, but our roots are local. Supporting causes such as Overgate Hospice is a small way of giving back to our community. Congratulations to everyone who walked, volunteered and donated. Thank you also to Beth and the Overgate Hospice team for inviting us to be involved.
