Portfolio Display launches new promotional display website

August 24th, 2009

Friday was the launch of our brand new website, which is packed full of new features and information. Each product now has a complete page dedicated to it with specification details; new images, quick quotes forms and some products also feature videos.

Our main aim was to make navigating around the website as easy as possible, so that you can quickly find the products you are looking for. We have added whether the product featured is in stock so you can place an order directly over the Internet for next day delivery (subject to time of order).

We have split our range of banners into 3 different categories. These include a page on printed PVC banners, banner stands and our wide range of banner frames suitable for outdoor promotions and events. This should make choosing the right type of banner for your display requirements simple.

Our range of automotive display products has been split down into product categories. You can also view a complete list of our stock products, which can be purchased directly over the Internet. Personalised products can be viewed by selecting the complete printed product range. Quick quotes can be requested by simply filling in the required details on the product pages.

We hope you enjoy using our new website as much as we do. If you need to speak to an experienced sales advisor about any requirements you may have, then please call 08458-543210 today.

Needing only one person, anyone can easily erect a roller banner without the need for an assistant.

To erect simply turn the feet on the base system, connect the pole together, slot it into the hole on the base and slowly pull out your artwork. The hook at the top of the graphic then attaches to the top of the pole. This product is also compact enough for transportation and comes in a padded carry case, ideal for business people always on the go.

A new addition to our banner stand range is the Twist range of banners. Three types of banner have been added, which includes the original Twist, the Twist Flexi-link and the Twist Media banner stand. Printed onto a thick 350 micron gives the product a long life and stability to cope with exhibitions and events. The Twist Flexi-link has the latest innovative technologically making it the most flexible banner stand of it’s kind on the market today. How to apply Vinyl Lettering & Custom Printed Graphics

June 9th, 2009

Many customers have asked for instructions on how to apply their custom vinyl graphics. Following these easy steps should ensure that your vinyl is placed in the correct position and free from dust or dirt contamination. Don’t apply graphics in direct sunlight, as the vinyl tends to stick straight away only giving you one chance.

1. Firstly prepare the surface to ensure the area is clean and dust free using a damp cloth. Measure and mark the area you want your vinyl lettering placed by sticking the vinyl in position using masking tape. Stand back and make sure everything is straight and in the correct position. Mark the edge of the vinyl in the top corners and the top edge with masking tape and remove the vinyl so you can use this as a guide when it comes to affixing.

2. For easy positioning and movement, mix a very small amount of washing up liquid in a bucket / spray bottle of cold water. Peel the backing paper slowly off the adhesive side of the graphics and spray with water until all the vinyl is equally covered.

3. Gently place the vinyl in the correct position, match the edge of the backing paper up to the inner edge of the masking tape you applied earlier. Use a squeegee or folded card when in the correct position and disperse the water from behind diagonally until all the water and air have been removed. Run your hand over the graphics to find any remaining air bubbles and remove with the squeegee.

4. Finally leave the vinyl to dry for 5/10 minutes and then gently peel back the application paper. Remove any remaining masking tape markers and wipe the area with clean water. Leave the vinyl lettering for a couple of days before you wash your vehicle to ensure the vinyl doesn’t come away.

Do I need planning permission to install a flagpole

May 29th, 2009

This question always raises a number of answers, the following is intended as a guidance only. If you intend to fly the Union flag or national flag of any country then you do not need planning permission to install a flagpole. Flags used for advertising and promotional purposes are controlled under Advertisement Regulations and would normally require consent from your local council. Flagpoles installed on listed buildings would require listed building consent.

No more than one flagpole would normally be permitted on buildings, listed buildings or buildings within conservation areas. An exception can sometimes be made for major public buildings or for buildings such as chain stores or hotels. Local councils policies on flagpoles can differ from each other so it is always advised to seek guidance from your local council before any plans are made.

Generally planning permission will be required if you intend to fly flags used for advertising. Portable flagpoles are an alternative solution as they do not require planning permission. A preferred option for new and used car dealerships.

Director Garth Walker completes the London Marathon

April 27th, 2009

Production director Garth Walker completed the London marathon on Sunday in 4hrs 39 minutes. This was an amazing achievement to say that 6 months ago Garth was not even interested in running, let alone a 26-mile marathon. After many strenuous training sessions Garth managed to get into great physical and mental shape, ready to run the London marathon. I asked Garth whether he was ready for it and he replied “I’m like a crazed bull stuck behind a gate ready to go”, good reply I thought.

Garth ran the marathon in aid of the St. Johns Ambulance and managed to raise over £1250 and still increasing. He would like to thank everyone who sponsored him and all the suppliers and customers to Portfolio Display who also donated to this great event. Garth’s energy and drive has really captivated the entire team at Portfolio Display. A great achievement and a credit to his consistent hard work over the last 6 months, which has been an inspiration to all who know Garth.
